Ingredients

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup)unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cupsugar
  • 4 teaspoonsfinely grated fresh orange zest
  • 2large eggs
  • 1/2 cupplain yogurt/sour cream
  • 1/4 cupfresh orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cupall purpose flour
  • 1 tspbaking powder
  • 1/ tsp salt
  • 1/2 tspbaking soda
  • 1/4 cupraisins mixed with sultans
  • For the frosting
  • 1 cupbutter
  • 3 cupsconfectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cupcocoa powder
  • 3 tbsmilk or heavy cream
  • 2 tspvanilla extract
  • 1/4 cupdark chocolate chopped and melted (optional)
  • 1/2 tspsalt

Steps

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter an 8-inch square baking pan and line bottom with wax paper, then lightly butter paper.
    Beat together butter, sugar, and zest in a large bowl with an electric mixer until creamy, about 2 minutes. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating until just incorporated. Whisk in the yogurt and orange juice, then add remaining ingredients, whisking until just combined.

    Frosting

    Beat the butter with a hand mixer until creamy

    Add the sieved and mixed confectioners sugar and cocoa in 3 parts while beating with the hand mixer

    Add vanilla and salt

  6. 6

    Add milk or heavy cream to achieve your desired consistency

  7. 7

    Lastly add your melted chocolate and mix well
