Cooking Instructions
- 1
Sift 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour (about 200 grams) into a bowl. Make a well in the center and add 1/2 cup plain yogurt (or use 2 eggs if you prefer non-vegetarian).
- 2
Add 2 tablespoons oil, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, and salt to taste. Mix well, then gradually add warm water as needed to knead into a soft dough, similar to chapati dough.
- 3
Once the dough is smooth and soft, cover and let it rest in a warm place for 20-25 minutes.
- 4
After resting, prepare your grill or skillet (tandoor or tawa). Take a large piece of dough, roll it into a ball, and dust with a little flour. Roll it out into a circle about 8-10 inches wide. Spread butter or oil all over the surface, then fold it in half to make a semicircle. Spread more butter or oil on top, then fold again to form a triangle with three corners.
- 5
Dust lightly with flour and roll it out thin, like a paratha. Cook the naan on a grill or skillet. Once one side is browned, flip and brown the other side.
- 6
When both sides are golden brown, remove from the pan, brush with butter, and cut into three pieces. Repeat with the remaining dough. Your delicious butter naan is ready! If you enjoyed this recipe, be sure to share it with your friends.
