Ingredients

  1. 500 gSelf raising flour
  2. 50 gMargarine
  3. 1 tspground cinnamon
  4. 1 tspvanilla essence
  5. 1 tsplemon essence
  6. 1lemon both rind and juice
  7. 100 gsugar
  8. 1/4milk or water

    Weigh all the ingredients correctly

  2. 2

    Sieve the flour in a bowl

  3. 3

    Rub in margarine to the flour until you get a sandy texture

  4. 4

    Add the remaining ingredients

  5. 5

    Mix the dough until soft

    Cover with a damp tea towel for 10 minutes

    Roll and cut into small portions

    Deep fry until golden brown, drain off excess oil and serve
