Ingredients

  • Filling ingredients:
  • 1.1 lbs (500 grams)ground beef, finely ground
  • 2onions
  • 1little water
  • 1/2 cuppine nuts, walnuts, or any other nuts you like, toasted
  • 1little sour pomegranate, to taste
  • Spices:
  • Salt
  • 7spice blend
  • Curry powder
  • Paprika
  • Dried basil
  • Red pepper
  • Dried mint
  • For the kibbeh:
  • 1.1 lbs (500 grams)semolina
  • 1 cupmedium semolina
  • 1 cupall-purpose flour
  • 3 cupsoil (about 710 ml), for frying
  • Salt

Steps

  1. 1

    Finely chop the onions.

  2. 2

    Sauté the onions with a little water, cover, and cook until soft.

  3. 3

    Add the ground beef and spices, and cook until done.

  4. 4

    Let the mixture cool, then add the toasted nuts and pomegranate.

  5. 5

    Soak the semolina and flour with the spices in very hot water. Let it sit for 10 minutes.

  6. 6

    Knead the mixture well by hand if you don't have a machine.

  7. 7

    Take a small piece and shape it into a cup, fill with the stuffing, then seal the edges well.

  8. 8

    Fry in oil until cooked. Enjoy!
