Cheese and Nigella Seed Croissants

Cheese and Nigella Seed Croissants
Steps
- 1
In a large bowl, combine 2 cups warm water, the yeast packet, 2 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons powdered milk, and 2 cups flour. Mix very well, then let the mixture rise for 15 minutes in a warm place (you can preheat the oven, turn it off, and place the bowl inside).
- 2
Remove the bowl from the warm place. Add the remaining 3 cups flour and mix. Gradually add the oil while kneading until the dough comes together smoothly and feels very soft.
- 3
After kneading, divide the dough into two equal portions. Place each half in a separate bowl, cover with a towel, and let them rest in the warm oven for 30 minutes.
- 4
Lightly flour your work surface. Roll out one portion of dough with a rolling pin, then cut it into triangles like pizza slices. Place a piece of white cheese (any kind) at the wide end of each triangle and roll up into a crescent shape. Repeat with the second portion of dough.
- 5
Place all the croissants on a large, greased baking sheet. Brush them with the beaten egg mixed with vanilla and a splash of milk, then sprinkle with nigella seeds. Let them rest while you preheat the oven, then bake until golden and cooked through.
- 6
Remove from the oven when done. Enjoy—they taste amazing!
