A traditional recipe
Steps

Firstly make a syrup with sugar, water, ghee, itar and all the garam masala(cloves,green cardamom, cinnamon)

Stir it continuously in high flame for 5 mins

On the other side soak the rice one hour before cooking time

Boil the water and put the rice to cook it completely
- 5
Now strain the water from the rice once it is done
- 6
Once the rice is done pour the syrup which has been made earlier into the rice and make sure that all the rice has drowned in it

Do not use any kind of spoon nor stir it otherwise the rice will get broken

Put it in steam for 10-15 mins till the water gets dried in the shahi zerda and till is fully ready

Add some dry fruits,cherry,khoya according to your wish

And the shahi zerda is ready to serve
