Ingredients

40-50minutes
5 servings
  • 180 gself raising flour
  • 20 gunsweetened cocoa
  • 150 gsugar
  • 1/2 tspvanila and 1/2 tsp chocolate essence
  • 1/2 tspcaramel(optional)
  • 7eggs

Steps

40-50minutes
  1. 1

    Pre-heat your oven at 180°

  2. 2

    Grease your baking pan and measure all the ingredients

  3. 3

    Sieve flour n cocoa and set aside

  4. 4

    Separate the egg yolk from the egg whites

  5. 5

    In a bowl beat egg whites until peaks form

  6. 6

    Very carefully sprinkle the sugar on top of the egg whites,being careful not to collapse them.Add the egg yolks and essence and beat until soft firm peaks form

  7. 7

    Fold in the mixture of flour n cocoa gently so that the air doesn't escape (i usually use my fingers)

  8. 8

    Put the batter into the baking tin and bake for 40-50minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean
