  1. For Marination :
  2. 1/2 kgMutton
  3. 1 teaspoonTurmeric powder
  4. 2 teaspoonsRed Chilli powder
  5. 1 teaspoonGinger garlic paste
  6. 1/2 teaspoonGaram Masala Powder
  7. 1 teaspoonSalt
  8. For gravy :
  9. 3 tablespoonsButter
  10. Onions medium sized 4 finely chopped
  11. Ripe Tomatoes big sized 3 puréed to a smooth paste
  12. 1 cupCilantros finely chopped
  13. 3 tablespoonsCashew paste
  14. 3/4 cupfresh cream

Steps

  1. 1

    Take 1/2 kg cleaned mutton in a bowl.

  2. 2

    Let’s marinate with a teaspoon turmeric powder,

    1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste,

    2 teaspoons red chilli powder,

    1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder,

    1 teaspoon salt.

    Mix ingredients with fingers for better masala absorption. Marinate for 20 minutes.

    After 20 minutes,
    Heat 2 to 3 tablespoons butter in a heavy based pan.

  4. 4

    Add the marinated mutton and fry till colour changes. Add 4 finely chopped onions.

  5. 5

    Use 3 ripe tomatoes to extract tomato purée. Add to the meat.

    Add 1 cup finely chopped cilantros.

  6. 6

    Add 1 cup cashew paste and fresh cream.

  7. 7

    Cover and cook the meat for 20 minutes in medium heat till mutton is done. Stir occasionally.

  8. 8

    Mutton Makhani is ready to serve. Relish with pulaos/ flatbreads.
