Steps
- 1
Crumble the bread slices after removing the four corners.
- 2
In a blender, add this along with eggs, milk, sugar (keep a little sugar aside)and essence and blend till properly mixed.
- 3
Take a steel round container with flat bottom and in it sprinkle some sugar.Place it over the burner and keep rotating as the granules melt,so that the caramelised sugar evenly coats the bottom.(Take enough care to keep the burner slow so as to not burn the syrup).
- 4
After a minute or two the coating will harden after which you can pour the mixture, without the two layers mixing into each other. Now place the container inside a pressure cooker filled with water upto 2/3 the height of the container(So that water does not enter it).Cover the contianer and then seal the cooker to pressure cook for half and hour on simmer.
- 5
Once done, carefully take out the container from the cooker and upturn it on a platter.Let it cool and it's ready to serve.
- 6
Best served when cold
