Ingredients

  1. 1 cupAll purpose flour
  2. 1 pinchcarom seeds /ajwain, crushed between palms
  3. 1 pinchOnion seeds
  4. 2 tbspClarified butter
  5. 250 gmSpinach leaves
  6. to tasteSalt
  7. as neededOil - for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash the spinach and blanch in the pan for five mins

    Cool down for some time then grind the squeeze palak/spinach and make a fine paste.

    In a kneading bowl mix all purpose flour,spinach paste,carom seeds,onion seeds salt and clarified butter.

    Make a soft dough.

    Keep aside for 15 mins.

    Divide the dough into a ball.

    Flatten the ball into thin round puri

  8. 8

    Cut into square shape

  9. 9

    Make slits with the help of knife in the middle portion

  10. 10

    .Fold it and now again fold it and seal the edges

  11. 11

    Slice a slot in the middle of of strips.

  12. 12

    Heat oil in a pan.

  13. 13

    Deep fry in batches.

    Cook on medium flame.
