Ingredients

Serves 4 servings
  1. 2.2 lbsbroccoli (about 1 kg)
  2. 12 ozOaxaca cheese (about 350 grams)
  3. Mayonnaise, to taste
  4. 14 ozcanned tuna (about 400 grams)
  5. Sliced onion
  6. 2fresh serrano peppers
  7. Aluminum foil
  8. as neededSalt and pepper,

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Blanch the broccoli in a pot of boiling water for 10 minutes, then drain.

  2. 2

    Cut the aluminum foil into 8-inch (20 cm) squares.

  3. 3

    Place a layer of broccoli pieces in the center of each foil square. Add a dollop of mayonnaise, a slice of serrano pepper, some Oaxaca cheese, tuna, and onion slices. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

    Wrap each portion in the foil, folding it into a tamale-like shape.

    Set up a steamer over heat and steam the foil packets for 20 minutes.

    Serve hot. These go well with French fries and bread.
