Ingredients

20 minutes
6 servings
  • 2 cupsWashed and finely chopped Spinach
  • 1 cupChana dal
  • 2 table spoonsUrad dal
  • 3 table spoonsMoong dal
  • 3 tea spoonsRaw rice
  • 5-6Red chillies
  • 2 tea spoonsFennel seeds
  • 1 inchGinger
  • to tasteSalt
  • 2Finely chopped green chillies
  • as neededOil for deep frying
  • 1/4 teaspoonAsafoetida powder

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and Soak the dals and rice for two hours.

  2. 2

    Drain the water, add salt, giner and red chillies.

  3. 3

    Grind to coarse thick batter in the consistency of roti dough.

  4. 4

    Add the chopped greens, green chillies, asafoetida powder and mix well.

  5. 5

    Heat oil in a pan. take lemon size rough balls and drop them in to oil one by one.

  6. 6

    Fry to golden brown in medium flame and serve hot with any chutney or sauce.
