Ingredients

  • For Cake:
  • 1. Plain flour - 3 cups
  • 2. Granulated sugar - 3 cups
  • 3. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 1.5 cups
  • 4. Espresso powder - 1 tbsp
  • 5. Baking soda - 1.5 tsp
  • 6. Sea salt - 1.5 tsp
  • 7. Large eggs - 4
  • 8. Plain Greek yogurt - 1.5 cups
  • 9. Water - 2 cups
  • 10. Vegetable oil - 0.5 cup
  • 11. Vanilla extract - 1 tbsp
  • For Frosting:
  • 1. Butter - 1.5 cups softened
  • 2. Cream cheese - 8 ounces softened
  • 3. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 1.5 cups
  • 4. Vanilla extract - 1 tbsp
  • 5. Salt - a pinch
  • 6. Powdered sugar - 7 cups
  • 7. Heavy cream - 0.25 cup
  • 8. Chocolate chips - to decorate

Steps

    Cake:

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease three 9 inch round cake pans.

    2. Sieve all the dry ingredients together. Add eggs one by one and mix it. Now add the plain Greek yogurt and mix it.

    3. Now add water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract. Whisk nicely without any lumps.

    4. Now separate this batter into three pans equally and bake it for around 35 minutes or till done.

    5. Cool down the cake completely and keep aside.

    Frosting:

    1. Cream the butter nicely creamy. Now add cream cheese and whisk again.

    2. Now add cocoa powder slowly and whisk it.

    3. Now add vanilla extract and salt.

    4. Add sugar little by little and whisk it nicely.

    5. Add heavy cream and whisk it till you get nicely creamy texture.

    Assemble:

    1. Spread little bit of frosting on cake board and spread it.

    2. Place one cake and apply cream nicely. Place next cake over this and apply cream again.

    3. Now place last piece of cake and cover the whole cake with cream.

    4. Apply nicely and neatly. Decorate with choco chips as your wish and freeze this for 30 min.

    5. Enjoy your cake.
