In a pan,heat ghee or oil then add onions, cinnamon,cloves,cadamom and peppercorns.

Fry till onion is transparent andabout to turn light brown.

Add mutton and mix well.

When the water of the mutton starts to dry add tomatoes,garlic and ginger paste.

The tomatoes dissolves and the oil starts to surface,add water and let it boil till the water evaporates.

Mix yogurt with all spices powder and add it to the mutton,keep mixing well.

In a different pan fry the slices of onions which are meant for garnishing,until golden brown and set a side.

Boil the rice with bay leaf,cadamom,cloves and cinnamon.

Put a layer of the rice in the bottom of the pan, then a layer of the mutton, then rice again.

Add yellow colour and fried onions.cover with lid and steam.
