First of all wash the chicken then add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powd, coriander powd, salt and garam masala powder and marinate for one hour.

Soak the basmati rice for 30 mins

Now heat the oil in a pressure cooker, then add onion and fry it for 1 min then add marinated chicken. Cover the lid and cook it for 10 minutes on a low flame.

Boil the water and par boiled the rice with the salt and whole spices and drain the water

Now in a heavy bottom pan add one layer of rice and one layer chicken and repeat it two or three times and in last cover it from rice and cover the pan with lid and cook for it for 15 minutes on low flame. Now the chicken biryani is ready to serve
