Wash the okras nicely. Let it dry a bit. Cut into halves lengthwise and set aside.

In a hand mixer chop the sambar onions and garlic and keep aside. You can also chop it finely in a chopper or you can crush it.

Heat oil in a cooking pan. Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle.

Add asafoetida, green chillies and curry leaves and saute for a minute.

Add the crushed onions and garlic and saute it lightly.

Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, pepper powder, cumin powder and kitchen king masala and salt and saute for a minute or two.

Add the okras and stir fry for a minute. Cover and cook till the okras are cooked.

Off the flame and add lemon juice and keep covered for about 5 minutes.

Ready to serve.
