Easy Tomato Soup

I prefer using fresh tomatoes for the soup, but whenever I have run out of tomatoes and fancy a warm soup, I use the tinned ones and it works well for me. I like adding cumin powder to the soup but it's totally optional.

I prefer using fresh tomatoes for the soup, but whenever I have run out of tomatoes and fancy a warm soup, I use the tinned ones and it works well for me. I like adding cumin powder to the soup but it's totally optional.
Steps
- 1
Heat butter on slow heat and add the onions, chopped tomatoes, water, salt and green chillies.
- 2
Bring it to simmer and cook for around 40 minutes. Take it off the pan and pour it into a blender and blend it. Be extra careful when doing this as it's very hot, not to burn yourself.
- 3
Pour the mixture into a pan and season with cumin powder. Ready to serve.
