In a small bowl, add the coconut milk, add yeast and a tablespoon of sugar, stir and let sit 10 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, add flour and sugar and mix well.

Make a well at the center and add the hot oil, mix well using a spoon or spatula, then using your hands, mix the flour to ensure there are no lumps.

Add the yeast mixture then mix. The dough should start to form, if the dough is still stiff, add a little lukewarm water. Knead for 5-10 minutes

Cover and let sit for 20 minutes.

On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Using a round cookie cutter, cut out the pieces.

Heat oil in a frying pan and fry until golden brown. Drain excess oil.

(optional) before they warm, you can coat them in some flavoured sugar of your choice. Otherwise serve and enjoy!
