Ingredients

2-3 servings
  1. 1 1/4 cupbasmati or long grain rice
  2. 1-2small sized carrot chopped
  3. 1/4 cuppeas
  4. 1/4 cupchopped potato
  5. 1red chilli
  6. 1/2 tspjeera / cumin
  7. 1bay leaf
  8. 1-2green cardamom
  9. 1small cinnamon stick
  10. 1 tspcoriander powder
  11. 1/2 tspjeera /cumin powder
  12. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  13. 1/2 tspsugar
  14. 1 tspghee
  15. to tasteSalt
  16. 3 3/4 cupwater
  17. 1-2 tspFresh coriander (chopped for garnishing)

Cooking Instructions

30 mins
  1. 1

    Clean the rice. In a rice cooker add the rice and water (water measurement is taken as water:rice is 3:1 ratio). Add all the chopped vegetables, masalas (whole, dry & powder), salt, sugar, ghee.

    Cover the rice cooker and switch on. Keep in cooking mode for 20-25 minutes.

    Once done, carefully check using spatula and ensure rice grains are not broken.

  4. 4

    Transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish with fresh coriander (chopped).
