More mulberries... This year, our mulberry trees have been especially generous, even though the season is almost over. So here’s the last celebration of this truly divine fruit for the year. This granita is perfect to serve at the end of a meal or as a snack—refreshing and absolutely delicious!
Steps
- 1
Gently clean the mulberries, being careful not to break them. Drain them, place them in a bowl, and freeze them.
- 2
Once frozen, put them in a blender (make sure it can crush ice) along with the ice, lemon juice, and powdered sugar. Blend for a few seconds until you get a slushy texture. Serve your granita immediately, optionally topped with some whipped cream.
- 3
If you want to store the mulberry granita, transfer it to a shallow rectangular container. Place it in the freezer, stirring every 30 minutes for a couple of hours. This will help prevent it from becoming too icy.
