  1. 250 gm to 350 gm chickpea / chola
  2. 2medium Chopped onion
  3. 1.5 teaspoon red chilies powder
  4. 1 teaspooncumin powder
  5. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  6. Half teaspoon turmeric powder
  7. 1medium size tomato chopped
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 2 tablespoon Oil
  10. Coriander leaves for garnish
  11. 6green chilies chopped
  12. 2 teaspoon of ginger paste
  13. 2medium sized boiled potatoes

    Take the overnight soaked chickpeas/chola and put it in pressure cooker with 3 cups of water, add salt to taste, 1 chopped onion, 1 teaspoon ginger paste and half teaspoon of cumin powder. Pressure cook it for 10 to 15 mins

    In a pan take oil fry the remaining chopped onion when a little golden brown add half teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1.5 teaspoon red chilies powder, turmeric powder cook these masala with half cup of water for 2 to 5 mins. When oil separates from the masala add the pressure cooked chickpeas/ chola, along with chopped tomatoes, chopped boiled potatoes, 1 teaspoon ginger paste and chopped green chilies.

    Cook it for 10 to 12 mins and the chickpea / chola bhuna is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves and 2 to 3 whole green chilies.
