Ingredients

  1. for batter:
  2. 1 cupurad dal paste
  3. 1/2 tspmethi Powder
  4. 1 cuprice powder
  5. 1/2 cupbeaten rice
  6. 1 tspsalt
  7. as requiredOil for greasing grill pan
  8. Fortoppings:
  9. 1onion finely chopped
  10. 1chilli finely chopped
  11. 1tomato chopped
  12. 1 inchginger finely chopped (optional)
  13. fewcurry leaves finely chopped
  14. 2 tbspcoriander finely chopped

Cooking Instructions

    Mix all the ingredients of batter except oil in a large bowl.

    Add water as required
    We don’t need a runny batter for uttapam.

  3. 3

    Mix well making sure everything is well combined and keep the batter aside for ten minutes.

    Chop onion, chilli, ginger, few curry leaves, coriander leaves and keep them aside.

    Now take a grill pan and heat it up.
    Brush oil lightly
    Pour the batter in small portions
    Don’t spread big

    Place the toppings on each mini uttapam and press gently.
    Put oil around each uttapam only if needed

  7. 7

    Cover it and let it cook for 1-2 minutes in low flame.
    flip over on the other side once the uttappams turns golden brown.

  8. 8

    Mini healthy uttapams are ready to be served with chutney of your choice.
