Soak dal overnight in sufficient water.

Grind dal, garlic, ginger and green chillies in mixer grinder using minimum water.

Slice onion and apply salt on both sides.

Apply dal paste on both sides of onion so that it coats properly and look likes tiki.

Now take oil in fry pan add tiki in hot oil and shallow fry tikkies on both sides on medium flame.

Cut into two, sprinkle chaat masala and serve hot with coconut chutney.
