Ingredients

20 minutes
5 servings
  • 1.5 cuprice flour
  • 3 cupswater
  • 4-5 tspoil
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 1.5 tspmustard seeds
  • 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  • 2 tspChana dal
  • 2 tspurad dal
  • 1 tspsesame seeds
  • 1 pinchasafoetida
  • 12-13curry leaves
  • 1 tspginger chilli paste
  • 2dry red chilli
  • 2 tspgrated coconut
  • 1.5 tspjeeravan masala

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat a wok with 1 tsp oil and then add half the mustard, cumin seeds, Chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves in it.

    When the mustard crackle then add water along with salt, ginger chilli paste in it and then slowly add the rice powder and stir it continuously in low flame to make a dough.

    Switch off the flame and cover it for 10 minutes.

    Grease your hand with oil and knead it to make a smooth dough.

    Then make small balls from the dough.

    Steam them in the pressure cooker for 5-6 minutes in medium flame without weighing the whistle.

    Then keep them aside.

    Then prepare the tadka. Heat a pan and put remaining oil, mustard seeds, Chana dal, urad dal,sesame seeds, asafoetida, red chilli, curry leaves in it.

    When the mustard crackle then add the jeeravan masala in it and mix the steamed rice balls along with grated coconut.

    Mix it well. Now your spicy Ammini Kozhukattai is ready.

    Serve hot as your breakfast or snacks.
