Ingredients

  1. 400 grbrisket, cut into bite size
  2. 6small tomatoes or 2 medium tomatoes
  3. 5cabbage leaves, roughly cut some bird eye chili peppers (to taste-optional)
  4. 2green onions, cut 1 inch
  5. 1 Tbspcurry powder
  6. 2lemongrass, bruised
  7. 3-4kaffir lime leaves
  8. 2 Tbspvegetable oil
  9. 350 mlwater
  10. 1 Tbspsalt or to taste
  11. 1/2 tspwhite pepper powder or to taste
  12. 1/2 tspsugar
  13. 1/2 tspbeef bouillon
  14. 2-3 Tbspsweet soy sauce
  15. fried shallots for garnish
  16. Ground spices:
  17. 4 clovesgarlic
  18. 6 clovesshallots
  19. 6red chili peppers
  20. 3bird eye chili peppers (optional)
  21. 1 inchginger
  22. 3nutmeg

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Sauté ground spices, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves until fragrant.
    Add curry powder. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Add beef. Cook until the meat change color. Remove from the heat.

  3. 3

    Place the meat in a slow cooker. Add water, salt, sugar, white pepper powder, and beef bouillon. Cover the pot. Cook on high for 4 hours.

  4. 4

    Add cabbage, tomatoes, green onions, bird eye chili peppers (if you use some), and sweet soy sauce. Cook again for 15 minutes. Remove the pot.

  5. 5

    Serve immediately over steamed with rice and garnish with fried shallots! Yum 😋
