Here’s a cake with dulce de leche and three kinds of chocolate, made by my daughter-in-law Elena. It turned out delicious—even though I’m not usually a fan of sweets, I loved it. Layers of ladyfinger cookies soaked in coffee are alternated with dulce de leche, whipped cream, and dark chocolate. The cake is topped with grated white and milk chocolate.

1 bagladyfinger cookies (small, elongated sponge cakes)
1 jardulce de leche
1 barwhite chocolate
1 barmilk chocolate
1 bardark chocolate
1 cupheavy whipping cream (200 ml)
1 cupmilk (240 ml)
1 tablespooninstant decaf coffee

Slice the ladyfinger cookies in half lengthwise and arrange them in a dish. Pour the milk mixed with instant coffee over the cookies to soak them.

Spread a layer of dulce de leche over the cookies. Add another layer of ladyfingers, then spread whipped cream on top, followed by another layer of ladyfingers.

Pour melted dark chocolate over the top, then finish by covering the entire cake with grated white and milk chocolate. Chill in the refrigerator until well set, then serve.
