Raw plantain cutlet is a Telangana state delicacy which is prepared with raw banana/plantain. A very good accompaniment to hot steamed rice or even sambar/rasam rice.

Raw plantain cutlet is a Telangana state delicacy which is prepared with raw banana/plantain. A very good accompaniment to hot steamed rice or even sambar/rasam rice.

Steps

Take two raw plantains, rinse well with water. Peel the skin and dice them into big pieces. Immerse them in water till we use otherwise they change colour.

Steam them in a pressure cooker spreading them onto a plate for five whistles.Steam along with rice to save energy and fuel.

Allow them to cool down and mash the steamed plantain using masher or hand. Add required amount of salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste, cumin powder and finely chopped coriander leaves. Mix thoroughly and make small round balls, slightly press them to get cutlet shape. Shallow frybthem drizzling little oil

Fry the cutlets on both sides slightly pressing them to cook evenly.

Once they are done completely transfer them onto a Serving plate and serve the raw plantain cutlet with hot steamed rice along with other accompaniments. Here I served raw plantain cutlet with steamed rice, raw plantain fry, sambar and curd. Delicious 😋!
