Simple, healthy and tasty kaale chane ki daal is a staple in every punjabi house. Try it once and you will want to make it a must in your dinner menu

Soak the kale chane in water overnight. Set aside. Add ghee in a pressure cooker. Add jeera. When they crackle add the onion. Saute till onions are a golden brown.

Add the garlic and green chillies and saute for a few seconds. Add the tomatoes. Saute till the tomatoes soften.

Add the haldi, hing and red chilli powder. Saute for a few seconds. Add the kala chana alongwith the soaked water. Add more water if required. Add salt. Stir. Pressure cook for 8 to 10 whistles. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves.
