Ingredients

  1. 4avocados (California avocados are best—ripe but firm and fresh), peeled
  2. 1 tablespoonlime or lemon juice (about 15 ml)
  3. 2-3medium cherry or grape tomatoes, chopped
  4. 1medium white onion, chopped
  5. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  6. 2 clovesfresh garlic, minced
  7. 1 pinchsugar
  8. 1jalapeño pepper, finely chopped (use less for mild heat, more for extra spice)
  9. 1 handfulcilantro

    This recipe is very simple. Cut the avocados in half, twist to separate, and remove the pits. Cut into pieces and mash the avocados with the lime or lemon juice using a fork. Season, then mix in the chopped tomatoes, onions, and a bit of finely chopped cilantro. Serve immediately.
