In a pan take tamarind extract, turmeric, jaggery, green chilli and few curry leaves. also, add vegetables and salt. cover and boil for 10 minutes. further, add water and toor dal.

Boil the mixture well. now add prepared sambar powder and mix well. boil for 2 minutes or till flavours of sambar powder is absorbed completely.

Now make tempering. In tadka pan add oil then add mustard seeds curry leaves and red chillies.pour the tempering over sambar.
also, add coriander leaves and mix well. - 4
Finally, sambar is ready to serve along with steamed idli..
