Ingredients

  1. 1 cuponions
  2. 1 cupcarrots
  3. 1 stalkcelery
  4. 4 clovesgarlic
  5. 6chicken thighs
  6. Dried thyme
  7. Dried oregano
  8. Dried red pepper
  9. Italian parsley
  10. 6 tblsflour
  11. 6 tblsbutter
  12. 2 quartschicken stock
  13. 1 quartvegetable stock
  14. 1/2 cupheavy cream
  15. Dumplings
  16. 2 cupsall purpose flour
  17. 1 tblsbaking powder
  18. 1 1/2 cupsheavy cream
  19. 1 teaspoonSalt
  20. 1 teaspoonPepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Brown chicken on each side. Remove. Add onions, carrots, and celery. Cook 3 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add garlic and dried pepper. Cook 3 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add butter. Melt then add flour. Cook 3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Pour in stock and heavy cream. Stir. Add spices. Simmer. Add chicken back in.

  5. 5

    Make dumplings. Add all dry ingredients and mix well. Add cream and stir together with hands. It should be slightly wet dough.

  6. 6

    Take out chicken when done and break apart into pieces. Add back into the broth.

  7. 7

    15 minutes before broth is done break the dough into small 1-2 inch pieces and put into the broth.
