Ingredients

  • 1 cupraw rice (1/2hr soaked)
  • 1/2 cupmoong dhall (1/2hr soaked)
  • 1 tbsppepper corn
  • 2 tspCumin seeds
  • 1”Ginger finely chopped
  • Green chilli
  • 10-12 pcsCashewnuts
  • 4 tbspGhee
  • leavesCurry
  • Salt
  • 1/4 tsphing
  • 5 cupWater

Steps

  1. 1

    Dry roast the moong dhall and soak it then soak the rice.

  2. 2

    In the pressure cooker add 2tbsp ghee,hing,ginger,green chilli,rice,water and salt pressure cook it for 5whistle in a medium flame.Let the pressure release then open the lid and smash the rice.

  3. 3

    In another pan add 2tbsp ghee,cashewnuts,pepper corn,hing,cumin seeds&curry leaves.Now mix this to the rice.

  4. 4

    The pongal is now ready to serve with sambar,coconut chutney and methu vada.
