Ingredients

  1. 1 cupraw rice (1/2hr soaked)
  2. 1/2 cupmoong dhall (1/2hr soaked)
  3. 1 tbsppepper corn
  4. 2 tspCumin seeds
  5. 1Ginger finely chopped
  6. Green chilli
  7. 10-12 pcsCashewnuts
  8. 4 tbspGhee
  9. leavesCurry
  10. Salt
  11. 1/4 tsphing
  12. 5 cupWater

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Dry roast the moong dhall and soak it then soak the rice.

  2. 2

    In the pressure cooker add 2tbsp ghee,hing,ginger,green chilli,rice,water and salt pressure cook it for 5whistle in a medium flame.Let the pressure release then open the lid and smash the rice.

    In another pan add 2tbsp ghee,cashewnuts,pepper corn,hing,cumin seeds&curry leaves.Now mix this to the rice.

    The pongal is now ready to serve with sambar,coconut chutney and methu vada.
