In a pot add washed daal, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt,green chilli.

Fill the 1/4 of the pot with water so all the ingredients are covered.

Then bring to boil once it boils let it simmer for about half an hour till the daal is tender. And water is almost gone.

Now add tamarind pulp.

Take the green chilli out and blend the daal either with a blender or daal gotni.

Now again water and cook for about half an hour more.

Once it cooked heat the oil add green chillies red chilli button, cumin seeds and add tarka to the daal.

Serve with lehsan(garlic) wali chawal.
