Ingredients

  1. 1 cupsugar (200 grams)
  2. 2 1/2 cupsfinely ground almonds (300 grams)
  3. 5eggs
  4. 1 tablespoonlemon zest
  5. Powdered sugar for decorating
  6. Butter for greasing the pan

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) with heat on both top and bottom and convection if available. Grease the pan with butter to make it easier to remove the cake later.

  2. 2

    Mix the eggs with the sugar and beat until the mixture is light and frothy with a pale color.

  3. 3

    Add the lemon zest and ground almonds, mix everything well, and pour the batter into the prepared pan.

  4. 4

    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Check occasionally, as baking time may vary depending on your oven. Insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is done. Decorate with powdered sugar and serve.
