Ingredients

20 minutes
Serves 5 servings
  1. 1 cup(about 200 grams) soaked rice (use a tea cup for measuring if you have a medium-sized pot)
  2. 2medium onions
  3. 2large garlic cloves
  4. 1/2 pound(about 225 grams) ground beef (I used 1/4 pound/115 grams)
  5. Fresh fennel greens
  6. Fresh parsley
  7. Spices:
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Ground fresh cilantro
  10. Black pepper
  11. Ginger
  12. Chinese kebab spice (or your favorite mixed spice blend)
  13. Nutmeg
  14. 1 tablespoonvinegar and lemon juice
  15. Small pinch of bouillon powder
  16. Tomato paste
  17. Ground fresh fennel greens
  18. Mixed vegetables ready for stuffing, or your favorite vegetables for stuffing

    Finely chop the onions, garlic, fennel greens, and parsley together.

    In a large bowl, combine the chopped vegetables with the ground beef, soaked rice, all the listed spices, and 4 tablespoons tomato paste. Mix well by hand, then stuff the mixture into the vegetables.

    Heat 5 tablespoons of oil in a large pot. Add the stuffed vegetables and sauté briefly. Pour in enough water to cover the stuffed vegetables, add 3 tablespoons tomato paste and a little salt if desired. Cook until the vegetables are tender, then serve on a platter. Enjoy!
