Spinach is full of iron so very good for health. This dish is so complete that we don't need to consume anything else.
It has goodness of broken wheat, iron from spinach, protein from daal, and as I always use all spices which has very important role in Ayurveda. Turmeric,jeera,asafoetida,curry leaves,mohari, and all masala has many health benefits.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cupdalia(porridge)
  • 1 1/2 tsparhar dal
  • 1/2 cupfinely chopped palak
  • 1onion chopped
  • 1tomato chopped
  • 1/2 tspginger garlic paste
  • to tastesalt
  • 3 cupwater
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 1green chilli chopped
  • 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 stickcurry leaves
  • 1 tspmustard seeds
  • 1 pinchasafoetida
  • 1/2 tspgaram masala

  1. 1

    Heat 1 tsp oil in a pressure cooker. Temper mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves

    Add chopped onions, green chilies and cook for a while. Now, add chopped tomatoes and mash the pulp. Add ginger garlic paste and stir well.

    Now, add chopped palak, dalia, arhar dal, turmeric powder, garam masala, hing and salt to taste.

    Stir well everything and finally add 3 cup water. Close the lid and cook for 4 whistles on medium flame.

    Remove from the heat and allow the pressure to settle down. Open the lid and add 1 tsp ghee if using. Mash everything and serve hot with curd.
