Take Chana daal and soak in water for 30 minutes

Boil Chana daal in plain water and remove foam over it which come because of boiling. Boil little hard but not mushy. And keep a side

Now chopped tomatoes, sliced onions and make tamarind paste

Take out frozen fried karelay from freezer and let it thow
- 5
Take a plate and collect all spices one by one. Take 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli paste, 1 tsp coriander powder

Take 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp kalonji and 1/2 tsp whole spice powder

Take out 1 tsp of fennel seeds and coarsely ground them and keep all dry masal a t a side

Take 1 tsp cumin seeds and sautay in heated oil for a while than add sliced onions and let them turn light golden

Add all the dry spices into onions and sautay a little bit

Now add chopped tomatoes and mix well

Cook tomatoes till they soft and mixed with spices completely.

When water reduced from tomato mixture add fried karelay and mix well for 3_4 minutes

Now add already boiled Chana daal into karelay mixture and add some water which was drained from daal and cook till everything encorporated well

Now add tamarind paste and cook a little bit on simmer.

Dish out when all the water evaporated and serve with chapati
