Add some water to the batter to obtain a pouring consistency.

To prepare the uttapams, heat a tawa or non stick pan and grease it with oil.

Pour a ladle full of batter and spread lightly.
(Do not spread it too thin.) - 4
Apply oil on the edges and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of chopped onions

Cook it on a medium low heat.

Let it roast on one side before flipping.
Once roasted on both sides, transfer to a serving plate. - 7
Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambhar.
