Margherita Pizza on a Pizza Stone
I've always made homemade pizza, but I realized I was missing two important things: the right amount of water and a pizza stone.
Steps
- 1
Combine half of the flour with the yeast and start mixing (I used a stand mixer)
- 2
Add the water and salt to the mixture, making sure the yeast doesn't come into direct contact with the salt, and continue kneading
- 3
Now add the rest of the flour, the olive oil, and the sugar to the dough, and knead for 10-15 minutes.
- 4
Once the dough is ready, let it rise for 20 minutes
- 5
After 20 minutes, shape the dough into a log and cut it into pieces of about 9 ounces (250 grams) each
- 6
Let the dough rise for 7-8 hours
- 7
Bake after adding your toppings: 3-4 minutes on a pizza stone, or 10-15 minutes in an aluminum baking pan.
