Ingredients

6 Donuts
  • 150 gmAll-purpose flour
  • 21 gmSugar
  • 3 gmInstant yeast
  • 2 gmSalt
  • 7 gmMilk powder
  • 7 gmCustard powder
  • 15 mlButter/Oil
  • 80-90 mlWater
  • As neededOil for deep frying
  • 1/2 cupCaster sugar
  • handfulsprinkles
  • as neededchocolate

Steps

  1. 1

    In a large bowl, combine All-purpose flour, sugar, Instant yeast, salt, milk powder, custard powder and oil.

  2. 2

    Gradually add water and start kneading. Dough will be sticky at this point.

  3. 3

    Once all the water has been added, transfer the dough onto a work surface/platform and knead until it doesn’t stick to your hands anymore.
    Note- If you can stretch the dough without it breaking, that means the gluten is well-developed and your dough is ready to rise. This is called windowpane test.

  4. 4

    Roll it into a 12-16 mm rectangle, cut with a floured donut cutter.
    OR
    Cut the dough into 45 gm pieces and roll each one into a ball. Press it gently to 12-16 mm thickness and cut center using a nozzle.

  5. 5

    Place all of these at 2”-3” distance on a baking tray that has been lined with parchment paper and dusted with All-purpose flour.

  6. 6

    Cover the tray with cling wrap and set aside in a warm place to proof for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  7. 7

    Once that is done, heat oil and deep-fry each donut until it turns golden brown on both sides.

  8. 8

    Let the donuts cool, and coat with toppings of your choice.
