This is a very delicious dosa. With its spicy masala, you don't need sambar or chutney on the side. It's a healthy dish and can also be called Upma Dosa.

This is a very delicious dosa. With its spicy masala, you don't need sambar or chutney on the side. It's a healthy dish and can also be called Upma Dosa.
Steps

Rinse the rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds. Soak them together for 5-6 hours, then grind into a batter and let it ferment.

Dry roast all the gunpowder masala ingredients (no oil), let them cool, then grind into a powder. Your spicy gunpowder is ready.

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan, add mustard seeds to temper, then add semolina and roast. Add water to make a thin upma.

Heat a nonstick griddle. Lightly grease it with oil and wipe with a paper towel. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons salt to the dosa batter and mix well. Spread the batter on the griddle to make a dosa.

Add 1 tablespoon upma on top of the dosa.

Sprinkle gunpowder masala over the upma. Add butter, mix, and spread evenly over the dosa.

Sprinkle chopped onion and other toppings as desired over the masala. Cook the dosa on low heat until it becomes crisp.

Your Hyderabadi Gun Upma Dosa is ready to serve.
