Ingredients

  1. 500 grSmall brinjal
  2. 10Red chilis (soak in 1tbsp vinegar)
  3. 1 tbsChili powder
  4. 1 tspCumin powder
  5. 1 tbsTamarind paste
  6. to tasteSalt
  7. 1 tspgram dhal
  8. 1 tspCoriander seed
  9. 1 tspRice
  10. 1 tspFried peanut
  11. 6 tbsOil
  12. 1 tspSugar

Cooking Instructions

    Wash brinjal, cut into 4, marinate with chilli powder, cumin powder and salt

  2. 2

    Fry all the dry ingredients and grind along with soaked red chilli as paste with vinegar and little water

  3. 3

    Keep a pan, add oil, fry marinated brinjal, for 10min in medium flame. Now add the ground masala, salt and keep cook in low flame for another 10min (add water if necessary)

    Now add tamarind paste and sugar keep cook in low flame until brinjal become soft

  5. 5

    Serve with coconut rice
