Steps
- 1
Clean the ribs, cut them into bite-sized pieces, blanch in boiling water, rinse with clean water, and drain.
- 2
Wash the bell peppers and onion, then cut them into bite-sized squares.
- 3
Marinate the ribs with 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon MSG, 1/2 teaspoon seasoning powder, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and a pinch of pepper for 15 minutes. Then add 1 egg and mix well.
- 4
Coat the ribs with a thin layer of cornstarch, then fry in oil until golden. Drain the oil.
- 5
Stir-fry the bell peppers and onion in a pan until slightly cooked, then transfer to a bowl.
- 6
Make the sauce: Mix 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon seasoning powder, 1 tablespoon ketchup, and 1/2 cup water until the seasoning dissolves.
- 7
Add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil to a pan, sauté the garlic until fragrant, then add the sauce and bring to a boil. Add the ribs and stir well, cooking on low heat for 5 minutes.
- 8
Add the stir-fried bell peppers and onion, stir until the sauce thickens, and adjust the seasoning to achieve a mild sweet and sour taste, then turn off the heat. (Feel free to adjust the seasoning according to your family's taste.)
- 9
Serve the sweet and sour pork ribs on a plate with hot rice.
