This is a weekend family meal for us that the children always enjoy. My son is fussy about lumps of onion and tomato so I purée the onions to make the base of the sauce. They have theirs with spaghetti and I have mine with veg. An #everydaykitchen meal ❤️

This is a weekend family meal for us that the children always enjoy. My son is fussy about lumps of onion and tomato so I purée the onions to make the base of the sauce. They have theirs with spaghetti and I have mine with veg. An #everydaykitchen meal ❤️

In a food processor blitz the onions, garlic and basil to make a rough paste. Add a tbsp of olive oil towards the end of blending to help bind it.

Gently cook the paste over a medium flame for about ten mins.

Then add the salt and paprika, and stir. Stir in the jarred sauce and the tinned tomatoes.

Add in the meatballs and simmer, partially covered, on the hob for 50 mins. Stir occasionally to prevent the base catching.

Cook your spaghetti according to the instructions on the packet. Taste the sauce before serving and season with salt and pepper to taste.
