Ingredients

30 mins
2-3 people
  1. 2-3ripe tomatoes
  2. 1small lemon size tamarind
  3. 5-6Garlic cloves
  4. 1 tspjeera
  5. 1 tspwhole black pepper/pepper powder
  6. 2whole red chillies
  7. 1 tspmustard seeds
  8. 7-8curry leaves
  9. 2 tspoil
  10. 1/2 tspasafoetida/hing
  11. 2 tsprasam powder(any brand)
  12. As required Salt

Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

    Take tomatoes in the vessel with water. Boil till it softens and skin becomes soft. Cool the tomatoes and remove the skin and add to the mixture jar.

  2. 2

    To the tomatoes, add garlic, pepper, jeera with little water to form a fine mixture. Now add the mixture in a bowl, add water to dilute, then mix tamarind extract, rasam powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    In a pan, add mustard seeds, red chilies, curry leaves, and asafoetida and the prepared tomato mixture. Boil till there is frothing on the top.
