Kissaten Style Ham and Cucumber Toasted Sandwich

This is the sandwich my mother used to make when she worked at a kissaten. It's a comforting taste that I've loved since I was a child.
For a grown-up taste, try using karashi-mayonnaise (mayonnaise mixed with Japanese mustard) instead of regular mayonnaise. Recipe by Nanaiku

Steps
- 1
Using a long diagonal angle, cut 4 slices of cucumber.
- 2
Toast 2 slices of bread in a toaster or toaster oven. With the shortest edge facing you, spread each piece first with margarine, then with mayonnaise.
- 3
On one slice, place three slices of ham, shifting them top to bottom, from one edge to the other, then arrange the cucumber slices on top.
- 4
Place the other slice of bread on top.
- 5
Slice off the crust from the long edges.
- 6
Cut the sandwich at a slight angle, transfer to a serving dish, then serve.
