This is my simplified (and much lighter & faster) version of the French Classic, Cassoulet. The Andouile (or any sausage of your choice), has a light amount of heat and this dish needs not much more to make a really nice comfort-food - light and good even in summer!PS: If you like it with a bit more heat: Use Andouille and 2 or more Chorizos! Meatballs in Tomato Sauce - Great with Pasta Meatballs in Tomato Sauce - Great with Pasta
This is the meatball variation of our family's standard recipe for simmered hamburger steaks. I got the idea from a cookbook I looked at a very long time ago! My family all love this.To prevent the meatballs from falling apart...In Step 3, drop the meat mixture into the bowl from a height several times to eliminate air bubbles. In Step 4, brown the meatballs over high heat. If you are serving this to small children, omit the red chili peppers. For 4 servings. Recipe by Chisora cookpad.japan -

These cheese-stuffed nuggets were intended for my daughter, but funnily it was my wife who liked them most. They work great in a sub sandwich, since the thick sauce won't run everywhere. Or you can go the traditional route and just ladle them atop a plate of noodles. Robert Gonzal -
Cabbage Rolls Simmered in Tomato Sauce Cabbage Rolls Simmered in Tomato Sauce
I thought of this while making a recipe using ketchup. My family always uses ketchup for rolled cabbages; ketchup goes really well with rolled cabbage! I was confident about this, so I tried using ketchup inside as well as outside.Make sure not to rip the cabbage leaves when tearing them from the cabbage head. You can still wrap them up if you tear one by stacking up 2 leaves. The meat that you stuff inside might feel loose, but you roll it up in cabbage, so it's alright! The cabbage rolls remain juicy even the next day . Slow Cooker Italian Tomato Sauce Slow Cooker Italian Tomato Sauce
Every now and then, I love to make tomato sauce. Not to brag, but I do make a good sauce. To everyone, except my son. My dad would get bread to dip into the pot that I used to make my sauce. My son? He would say, "Mmmmm! Delicious!" That was it, he would not want any more of it.I took the chance to make my sauce in the slow cooker and boy did it pay off. Even my son loved it. That was it for me. I am sold on making my sauce in the slow cooker. He could not get enough of it and that convinced me to keep making it in the slow cooker. For the sauce, you can use any can of sauce that you wish to use. Whether it be crushed, whole tomato, pureed, sauce, it all works in this recipe. For this recipe, I used tomato puree and sauce. I usually use crushed tomatoes and sauce, but I thought that I would keep the pieces of tomato to a minimum for my son. Pure Genius! We cooked it for 8 hours and it was perfect, but you can cook it for 6 hours instead. Either way, at the halfway point, stir the sauce, put the lid back on the pot, and cook for the remaining time. You can also use fresh herbs & spices and cloves of garlic. It will really give this recipe a nice flavor punch. I hope that you like this sauce as much as my family & friends do.Enjoy! J.A.B. -
