By using a pressure cooker, you can make a pork simmer in just 40 minutes with a genuine taste!
A lot of people don't like pressure cookers, but with my "Ma Roniex" cooker, it's just like cooking with a regular pot. Definitely check out their home page!

When the pressure starts, the sizzling sound and the rumbling of the counter-weight might be scary to some. If you're one of these people I recommend the "Ma Roniex" pressure cooker. It doesn't make any of those sounds, and with a glass lid you can use it like a regular pot after pressure cooking. Recipe by hf370418

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 800 gramsLump of pork meat
  2. 1 cloveThinly-sliced ginger root
  3. 100 mlSake
  4. 100 mlMirin
  5. 100 mlWater
  6. 3 tbspSugar
  7. 4 tbspSoy sauce
  8. 1Green part of Japanese leek, boiled

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Put the pork meat in the pressure cooker, and add just enough water to cover the meat. Ad the green part of the leek as well.

  2. 2

Cover with a lid and heat on high. When the pressure cooker starts to shake, lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes. Then stop the heat and let steam for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Tilt the pressure cooker weight and open the lid, take out the meat, and rinse in warm water for 4 to 5 minutes then drain.

  4. 4

Throw out the water from Step 3, and put the drained meat and the ingredients from the ginger root to the soy sauce into the pot.

  5. 5

Heat the pot in Step 4 on high heat, and when it begins to sway, reduce to low heat and cook for 10 minutes. Stop the heat and steam for another 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Tilt the pressure cooker weight and open the lid, and it's done.

  7. 7

When boiling in a pressure cooker, add fresh daikon (sliced like oden-style) for a superb soaked-in taste. A boiled egg is also delicious!
