Tonteki (Pork Steak) from Mie Prefecture

This is my family’s tonteki.
Please be careful with the marinating time as it will be too salty if you marinate for too long. Recipe by Yuzumaman

Steps
- 1
Tenderize the pork shoulder and cut into baseball glove shapes or bite size pieces.
- 2
Mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl (either sliced garlic or whole garlic is okay). Marinate Step 1's pork in the mixture for about 15 minutes.
- 3
Heat vegetable oil in a pan and cook the pork and garlic.
- 4
Once the pork meat cooks through, add the sauce and simmer. When the sauce coats the meat well, it's ready to serve.
- 5
Serve with plenty of julienned cabbage.
