Ingredients

45 minutes
2 servings
  1. 1/2 cupmoong dal
  2. 1/2 cuprice
  3. 2 tbspghee/ oil
  4. 1 tspcumin seeds
  5. 1chopped tomato
  6. 1 tspGinger paste
  7. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  8. 2potatoes cut in halves
  9. To TasteSalt
  10. 1 tspGaram Masala powder
  11. 1 tspchopped coriander

Steps

45 minutes
  1. 1

    Rinse moong dal and rice together.

  2. 2

    Now add ghee/ oil in pressure cooker, heat it, then add cumin seeds.

  3. 3

    As soon as cumin seeds begin to splutter add chopped tomato and ginger paste and saute.

  4. 4

    Now add the potatoes and saute, then add turmeric powder, salt, garam Masala powder and chopped coriander and mix properly.

  5. 5

    Add dal and rice and stir for about a minute.

  6. 6

    Add 4 cups of water, close the lid and pressure cook till 4 whistles..

  7. 7

    When the pressure is released open the lid, stir it.
    Serve hot.
